Business or Pleasure? - Yes

I'm back travelling again after 4 months at home.

My (old) golf club has started an annual golf trip to Pattaya, with the first one happening 2 years ago. I was on that one but couldn't go last year because it clashed with my trip to NZ to play hockey in the Australian vets team.

I had organised to go on this year's trip soon after arriving back from the last of many trips, last year (hockey and mensa).

About a month ago I had an email from Pan Orient asking if I could come for a week for further training and to change the software.  Due to other commitments here I couldn't have left much earlier so decided to combine the two activities into one trip.

Originally the plan was for myself and 2 of the guys from the golf club to arrive Tuesday night and have 3 1/2 days in Bangkok sightseeing before heading to Pattaya to meet up with the rest of the golf crew on the Saturday.  By leaving Sunday night, I plan to have 7 full days in the office at Wichian Buri with 2 days either end travelling to and from Bangkok. I will still get back the same day as the other 2 arrive.

At least with the upgrade to business class and my silver membership with Thai Airways, I shouldn't have to worry about excess baggage charges.

I have also been continuing with my learning to read the Thai language. I had printed out the Thai and English versions of the Rosetta Stone manuals and have been doing one or 2 lessons most nights before going to sleep. I finished these only a few days ago. I wonder how much I'll remember? Still if anybody tells me "Go down the street past the school to the garage, turn right and continue for 2 streets then turn left. The Hospital is on your right" I might even understand them. Similarly, I'll be right if any one tells me "the blue rectangles are larger than the red circles". I wonder which will be the most useful, assuming I don't accidently stagger into a geometry lecture, or possibly a kindergarten.
